SPA ETIQUETTE
Relaxtion is at the heart of the spa experience, so knowing what is expected of guests and therapists alike is helpful for realising even greater comfort. In general, allow others to 'do for you,' and enjoy
what is one of Life's greatest Rewards.
By arriving on time or early, you have more time to acclimate and benefit from your surroundings.
Unless child care is provided, do not bring children and leave them unattended.
Give the therapist feedback as to your particular needs or problem areas.
Know that you may be silent or quietly talkative.
Undress completely for body services; your therapist will keep your body draped in dry services and only expose areas being worked on.
For body scrubs, body wraps and hydrotherapies, you will not be draped: however a swimsuit is optional for some services.
Know that you must vacate the treatment room upon completion of services within a reasonable amount of time.
Share public space respectfully with others and exercise senstivity to dress codes.
As the Day Spa Association points out, it is common practice to tip the person who has performed to the satisfaction of the customer. If gratuities are not already included in a particular package price, give between 10% - 15% of the cost of service. In most cases, spas provide an envelope at the front desk when checking out. Simply place the gratuitiy into it and write the therapists name on the front. This is an elegant, personalized spa custom to express thank you for a job well done.
