This itinerary will take you on a journey through the four most popular areas of Botswana. There is so much to see and do. On day one, for example, guests choose from a late afternoon cruise on the river, a tour of Chobe by power boat or a game drive in an open vehicle. |
This eight-night safari starts from Victoria Falls and ends at Maun airport. It departs on any day of the week and can easily be amended to your exact requirements. It can also be combined with a wide variety of other Southern Africa destinations.
Baggage is restricted on internal flights to 20kg (including hand luggage) per person in soft sided bags.
Savute Safari Lodge
DAY 1 VICTORIA FALLS-CHOBE
Depart from your Victoria Falls hotel across the border and continue to either of the two Chobe lodges detailed below. Enjoy a late afternoon cruise on the river, a tour into the Chobe National Park by power boat which brings you up close to the abundant wildlife, or a game drive by open vehicle. (l,d)
DAY 2 - CHOBE
Two game activities will be offered today, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. As with day one, options include both water- and land-based game activities (unless staying at Chobe Savanna Lodge, where all game activities are conducted on water). (b,l,d)
DAY 3 - CHOBE-SAVUTE
After your morning game activity and breakfast, you will depart for Kasane airport for your flight to Savute. Your afternoon game drive will be by 4x4 safari vehicle. (b,l,d)
DAY 4 - SAVUTE
A full day at Savute with two game drives included. (b,l,d)
DAY 5 - SAVUTE-OKAVANGO DELTA
Fly by light aircraft from Savute to the Okavango Delta and transfer to your chosen Delta lodge (you can select any of the three Okavango lodges deatiled below). (b,l,d)
DAY 6 - OKAVANGO DELTA
A full day in the Delta with two game activities included. (b,l,d)
DAY 7 - OKAVANGO DELTA-MAKGADIKGADI PANS
After your game activity and breakfast, you will depart by plane and road to the Makgadikgadi Pans and Leroo La Tau Lodge. (b,l,d)
DAY 8 MAKGADIKGADI PANS
A full day in the Makgadikgadi Pans with two game activities included. (b,l,d)
DAY 9 MAKGADIKGADI PANS-MAUN
After your game activity and breakfast, you will depart by road or plane for Maun airport, where the tour ends. (b)
OTHER OPTIONS
This eight night tour can be enjoyed in the opposite direction and the number of nights at any of the lodges can be amended, essentially you can spend your eight nights in any of the seven lodges below and the price of the tour will not change. If you wish to extend your stay in Botswana, extra night prices are available on request, these include three meals and two game drives plus refreshments including local spirits and wines.
This tour combines well with Victoria Falls.
LODGE DETAILS
SAVUTE SAFARI LODGE - Savute
Located on the Savute Marsh, within the greater Chobe National Park. Offers 12 suites, with private decks. Facilities include outdoor pool, dining room & outdoor deck for dining. All game drives are on land. No children under 12 permitted.
CHOBE GAME LODGE - Chobe National Park
Situated on the banks of the Chobe River, this outstanding lodge offers an outdoor pool, two bars & restaurant. All 48 air-conditioned rooms face the river & offer a free mini bar. Land- and river-based game drives available. Children of all ages are permitted, however, the minimum age to participate in game drives is six.
CHOBE SAVANNA LODGE - Chobe National Park
Situated on the Namibian side of the Chobe River. This charming lodge has just 12 thatched air-conditioned chalets, all with a private deck overlooking the river and complimentary mini bar. Lodge facilities include an outdoor pool & outdoor boma for dining. Please note that all safaris at Chobe Savanna Lodge are conducted on water. Visits to a local Namibian village are also available. Children of all ages permitted, however, the minimum age to participate in game drives is six.
XUGANA ISLAND LODGE - Okavango Delta
On a wooded island in the Xugana private concession. Has just eight reed & thatch chalets. Facilities include an outdoor pool & floating boma for dining (maximum eight guests per evening). Boat and canoe safaris only. No children under 12 permitted.
CAMP OKAVANGO - Okavango Delta
Located on remote Nxaragha Island. Offers 11 African-style tents on teak platforms, an outdoor pool, dining room, bar & outdoor patio for alfresco dining. Boat and canoe safaris only. No children under 12 permitted.
CAMP MOREMI - Okavango Delta
Located on Xakanaxa Lagoon, within the Moremi Game Reserve. Offers 11 African-style tents on teak platforms, boma, dining room, bar & outdoor pool. Boat and land safaris only. No children under 12 permitted.
LEROO LA TAU LODGE - Makgadikgadi Pans
Located on the western border of the Makgadikgadi Pans and 15 metres above the dry Boteti riverbed, Leroo La Tau offers 12 luxurious en suite chalets, on individual raised wooden platforms, a dining room, bar, an outdoor pool and a hide situated in front of the lodge where guests can get a closer view of the animals around the waterhole. All meals, local brand drinks, scheduled game viewing and laundry service are included. No children under 12 permitted.
