Samburu is home to some of the most unique wildlife in Kenya and a host of birds. Deep in this animal wildereness lie the 24 deluxe tents of Ashnil Samburu Camp, spread out along the shady banks of the Ewaso Nyiro River, under a thick stand of doum palms and acacia trees that are a feature of the area. The lovely swimming pool is a welcome place to cool off after, perhaps, a guided walk. To relax, there is a massage tent and refreshing sundowners are offered at night.

Next stop is Lake Nakuru where thousands of pink flamingoes tint the horizon. Around the lake a game reserve has been created where the endangered black rhino is protected and may be seen along with antelope, giraffes, lions and hyenas.

Finally, the magnificent Masai Mara, famed for its vast numbers of plains game and the spectacular big cats.

DAY 1 FRIDAY OR SUNDAY HEATHROW-NAIROBI
Fly overnight from Heathrow to Nairobi.

DAY 2 SATURDAY OR MONDAY NAIROBI
Met on arrival at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi and transferred to the Jacaranda Hotel. The remainder of the day is at leisure, or choose from a selection of optional excursions (book and pay locally). Overnight at the Jacaranda Hotel on bed and breakfast basis.

DAY 3 SUNDAY OR TUESDAY SAMBURU
After breakfast drive north through rich farming areas and across the Equator to the semi-arid and rugged landscape of the Samburu (360 kms). After lunch proceed on a late afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight at the Ashnil Samburu Camp.

DAY 4 MONDAY OR WEDNESDAY SAMBURU
Early morning and late afternoon game drives enable you to see wildlife unique to this arid yet beautiful part of Kenya. Breakfast, lunch, dinner and overnight at the Ashnil Samburu Camp.

DAY 5 TUESDAY OR THURSDAY LAKE NAKURU
After an early breakfast drive into the Great Rift Valley to the Lake Nakuru National Park arriving in time for lunch (375 kms). Enjoy an afternoon game drive in the park, host to flamingoes and the endangered rhinos among other big game species along the lake's shore. Dinner and overnight at Lake Nakuru Lodge.

DAY 6 WEDNESDAY OR FRIDAY MASAI MARA
After an early breakfast drive to the world famous Masai Mara Game Reserve arriving in time for lunch at the lodge (315 kms). Enjoy a late afternoon game drive in one of the world's finest game reserves. Dinner and overnight at the Mara Simba Lodge.

DAY 7 THURSDAY OR SATURDAY MASAI MARA
An early morning balloon safari over the Mara followed by a bubbly bush breakfast (optional extra) or take an early morning game drive followed by breakfast at the lodge. Rest of the morning at leisure. After lunch enjoy a late afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight at the Mara Simba Lodge.

DAY 8 FRIDAY OR SUNDAY MASAI MARA
