Country notes

Imagine a country enjoying the abundance of nature, where nature is so unique and stunningly beautiful that it catches your breath. Pure, clean, natural - that's Norway!

The Fjords - where sea and mountains unite, the Northern Lights, the Midnight Sun, the Glaciers and so much more all make this a land of unique extremes.

It's a very special place to visit, all year, skiing and fishing can be enjoyed all year, go hiking in one of the many national parks on an abundance of marked trails or sit back and relax on a cruise through the fjords. Visit the capital Oslo, for culture, entertainment and even skiing all within the city limits. In Oslo you will find interesting museums such as the Viking Ship Museum, the Munch Museum and the Vigeland Sculpture Park.

On the west coast, a short flight or a train ride away from Oslo, is the Hanseatic city of Bergen. Bergen is an international town with a small town charm and atmosphere.
The old parts of town are living history, the Hanseatic Wharf Bryggen with its colourful houses and narrow lanes, the fishmarket as well as the viewpoint Mount Floyen, to which you can take the funicular from the town centre, are all sights worth visiting when in Bergen.

But don't just take our word for it - UNESCO has included two magnificent fjords on its World Heritage List - the Geirangerfjord and the Naeroyfjord.
And in 2004 the National Geographic Traveller Magazine named these fjords 'the best unspoiled travel destination in the world'. And in the same year the American newspaper 'Chicago Tribune' included Norway's fjords on its list 'Seven Wonders of Nature'.

Norway's Lapland, or Finnmark as it is also known, is the northernmost county in Norway has a wild and wonderful nature full of contrasts. You will also find the northernmost point in Europe - North Cape here, as well as the famous Igloo Hotel, a more than good chance to see the Northern Lights or Midnight Sun here.

Whether you are looking for a break that includes exciting nature experiences such as swimming with killer whales or to spot a Polar bear, an exciting snowmobile or husky safari or you just want to simply sit back and relax on a cruise watching the stunning scenery as you travel along make sure they are Best Served.......
